The CISCO team was out today putting blue ethernet cables in the ceiling.
They were sent out by Mr. Odom to see where the cables ran from the router known as CAT 6. They brought a ladder with them and went to the lab next to the kitchen. Inside the ceiling, they threaded cables all through the ceiling. They’d move forward a couple of feet, removed the ceiling tile and threaded the cables to that spot.
The Supervisor, Jack Clapp, stated that they were trying to improve the internet speed. There used to be a few more cables running through the building. Now, with more cables, there would be better traffic and less chance of a collision between sets of information. “Think of it like a path. Instead of a simple road, it will now be an interstate,” said Jack.
The team will continue to work for the next couple of weeks so it may be crowded in the kitchen wing.
