On Friday, March 24th six students from the James Rumsey Technical Institute set up shop at Mill Creek Intermediate to participate in the school’s career day. Here, they talked about the institute, their classes, and where their careers are headed.

Mill Creek’s students were presented with a range of career fields and opportunities. Robert Fogle (Web & Game Design) and Logan Nichols (Multimedia Publishing) gave the intermediate students insight to the behind-the-scenes of coding websites and producing commercial art. Jessica Bittinger (Fire Science & EMS) talked about what to expect as a firefighter and emergency responder, while Larkin Hite (Early Childhood Education) gave the students a look into the routine of taking care of smaller children. Trevon Ruff (Masonry) and Samuel Smith (Welding) spoke of the art of building and working with your hands.

It was a fun and informational day for everyone involved. JRTI’s volunteers were happy to present and open the possibilities to a younger generation.
