Melissa Williams’ adult Automotive Technology class has received a valuable donation from the Ford Motor Company and Kent Parsons Ford. The two 5R55 5-speed and two 6R80 2-wheel drive transmissions will be used to train students to work on equipment used in popular Ford vehicles such as the Mustang, F-150, Explorer, and Expedition. The instructor’s goal is to offer her students Ford Certifications and she believes the support her program is receiving from Kent Parsons Ford is invaluable.

New transmissions

The transmissions were presented to the school Wednesday morning. Fred Parsons and Gary O’Neal from Kent Parsons Ford and Matthew Lowrie from Ford Motor Company presented the donation. Instructor Melissa Williams and her students were joined by JRTI’s Director/Principal and Assistant Principal, Donna Van Metre and Kathy Morgan.
