Kent Cartridge is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer.

Kent Cartridge is a family-owned business specializing in the development, manufacture and distribution of premium hunting and target ammunition. All our manufacturing, shipping and related work is done at our company’s facilities located in Kearneysville, West Virginia. Our customer base includes retailers of all sizes, as well as gun clubs and specialty shops located in the U.S and Canada.

About the Role

We are looking for a creative individual who is familiar with manufacturing processes and is skilled in analyzing and solving production related challenges. We seek an innovator eager to help us improve our processes so we can continue to deliver our products in a timely fashion for a price that represents exceptional value to our customers. You’ll be familiarized with our existing manufacturing setup and procedures, and will work alongside plant staff to experience real challenges impacting the production of our products. We will look to you to diagnose problems and recommend solutions regarding the best way to make our products. What You Will Do

• Lead our efforts to identify and drive out losses through standards and system development
• Support the daily activities of the production line and processing areas
• Build long-term capacity into the areas of systems and technicians
• Identify, prioritize, analyze and eliminate losses and inefficiencies
• Oversee delivery and start-up of new equipment, initiatives and projects
• Collaborate with technical experts, other functions and other manufacturing sites to create the best solutions
• Create and improve standards to enable us to achieve performance targets for the production line
• Understand and work with automated equipment
• Coach and train technicians
• Create and develop learning programs
• Help all production areas including safety and quality control

Position Requirements

• A BS or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Some experience preferred but experience is not required
• Ability to solve problems and address issues quickly
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
• Comfortable working with manufacturing equipment and technicians daily
• Understand potential risks with equipment and desire to create a safe work environment
• A team player able to get along well and collaborate with others
• Motivated and self-driven, eager to learn new skills
