JRTI held its annual Teacher of the Year Breakfast ceremony before school on Friday, December 3rd. Instructors are nominated by their students. The faculty votes to narrow the list down to three candidates. Members of the school’s LSIC (Local School Improvement Council) interview the candidates and choose who will receive the honor. This year’s candidates were Ron Odom (CISCO Networking and Advanced IT), Rebecca Nelson (HVAC/R), and John Lockhart (Masonry).

The event was attended by the JRTI faculty as well as members of the LSIC and Administrative Council. Students from the ACE Culinary Arts program catered the event. Their program recently acquired its own food truck. They used this opportunity to practice preparing orders in the truck in addition to the school kitchen. As usual, they provided an impressive menu with fast and courteous service.

Donna Van Metre, JRTI Director/Principal, presented the Teacher of the Year award to Ron Odom.

Congratulations, Ron!
